About The District

Leighton Linslade Scout district covers the towns of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade together with the villages of Heath and Reach, Stanbridge and Tilsworth in the South West corner of Bedfordshire, just 40 miles north of London. The District falls within the Bedfordshire County Scout Council but borders Buckinghamshire. Indeed Linslade used to be part of the Wing district of Buckinghamshire Scout Council.

Scouting has been in existence in the area since 1909 when the 1st Leighton Buzzard Scout Group was formed. Groups have formed and disbanded over the subsequent period and currently there are 6 groups in the district together with an Explorer Scout Unit and a Young Leaders Unit.
